Indigenous
The Indigenous representative’s role with WUSA is to:
- Facilitate advocacy for Indigenous students
- Provide representation within the University and its’ community
- Identify and respond to the various needs of Indigenous students
- Promote participation in the intellectual life of the University
- Promote information sharing and other activities of a social, cultural, intellectual or professional nature
- Contribute to the development of student movements and activities.
The Indigenous representative can facilitate assistance when dealing with:
- University staff
- Student rights issues
- ABSTUDY
- Centrelink and other welfare issues
The role of Indigenous Representative also involves the planning and organisation of Indigenous specific events on and off campus.
